Chicago Fire Demo, Soldier Field - June 2004

Demonstrations

Our programs emphasize play as our motivation and health as a side-benefit.  Our lead presenter and Program Coordinator is World Footbag Freestyle Champion, Scott Davidson.  We relate to those who have tried footbag by kicking in a circle with friends.  We break down the basic kicks that people use and offer drills to help the learning process.  Our presenters show off their expert skills as we introduce the sports of footbag freestyle and net.  Everyone loves it when we are able to end in a hands-on experience playing footbag in small groups.

We aim to bring footbag to the masses with our presentations to school assemblies, and other large groups.  We focus on basic techniques and the fun that people can have kicking.  Everyone needs 30-60 minutes of moderate exercise daily, and we can’t think of a better way than kicking with a circle of friends.

“It was a pleasure to footbag with you, and even more of a pleasure to watch you perform.  Your moves are incredible!  Everyone watching, including myself was paralyzed with amazement at the sight of the ball flowing so freely around your body.  Your energy and easy going spirits helped liven up the room we were in and the room behind us.”

Footbag Demonstrations are a great opportunity for expert players to showcase the sport for the public. We had an opportunity to present Footbag as an American sport among a field of international games from 10 countries. Special thanks to the Chicago Cultural Center for hosting this event.
